Guided Meditations - the best kind !




Here we will be talking about Guided Meditations, which are almost certainly the most effective way how to meditate.

In fact many people prefer to use this method all the time, as for virtually everyone it works the best.




So what are they exactly ?

Basically they are a form of meditation where someone else is giving the meditation instructions to you verbally, so that all you have to do is listen to the voice of the person and the effects of the meditation happen automatically.

There are two ways that you can do this...the first one is by having someone read the pre-written instructions to you slowly -and you just concentrate on what they are saying - and try to ignore everything else.

The second way is very much better...this is by listening to a Pre-Recorded guided meditation, made by someone who is a meditation expert or teacher.

I think that you can probably see the advantages of the second method - they are;-

1. Normally people will listen to the pre-recorded meditation using headphones or earphones...either of which will block out a lot of the distracting 'outside' noise, and allow the meditation to be more effective.

2. Using headphones or earphones means that the words are directed at - and heard by - you only, and therefore there is no chance of disturbing other people.

3. You do not have to go to the trouble of trying to find a trusted friend who will read the guided meditation to you, on a regular daily basis, at a time that is convenient for both of you (also - even the best of friends get bored by this after only a short period of time !).

4. You choose the time and place and frequency of when you meditate, without having to be dependent on someone else to read the meditation to you.

5. The pre-recorded guided meditation is done by someone who is an expert and has a better idea of how fast - or how slow - to speak the meditation instructions, whereas a friend might read them too fast or too slow for your comfort....and that can make a big difference.



What I am doing on this Website is to offer both methods...both written simple guided meditation instructions for someone to read to you; and pre-recorded ones done by me, especially for the more difficult or powerful meditations - these are on the page called CDs and MP3 downloads.

The written ones are entirely free, and if it is possible, the best thing to do is to get a printed copy of the one(s) that you are interested in, rather than your friend reading them directly off of the computer screen

....it also means that you have your own copies that you can use anytime or anywhere, even if a computer is not available.

(It is also really nice to do them out in the countryside - away from the 'hustle and bustle.')

How I am going to do this - is by having sub-pages to this general page - and each sub-page will be one meditation.

When you get to the bottom of the page you will understand what I mean....each meditation will have its own description, and a clickable link to get to it ( and also clickable links between all of the different ones).

It is of utmost importance that these written Guided Meditation Scripts are read out SLOWLY, with several seconds pause between each sentence - otherwise it does not give your mind enough time to react in the relaxing way that it should.
